While pursuing undergraduate studies in biology and foreign languages at Harvard University, David Brian Wexler, MD, won a number of honors, including the John Harvard Scholarship, the Harvard College Scholarship, and the Harvard Club of Southern California Scholarship for Superior Academic Achievement. Upon graduation from Harvard in June 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, Dr. David Brian Wexler earned a Regents Scholarship to Medical School for Post Baccalaureate Study. Choosing the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine for his graduate studies, Dr. David Brian Wexler engaged in coursework from September 1984 through June 1990. Dr. David Brian Wexler concurrently took courses in Morphology, Phonology, and Grammatical Structures. Graduating with a Doctorate of Medicine from the UCSD School of Medicine in June 1990, Dr. David Brian Wexler launched his career in medicine and psychiatry. At the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from June 1990 to June 1994, Dr. David Brian Wexler first completed a one-year categorical internship, followed by a three-year residency in Psychiatry. After this time, Dr. David Brian Wexler, MD relocated to Redondo Beach, California, to function as Associate Medical Director of In-Patient Services at California Psychiatric Management Services. Dr. David Brian Wexler, MD next moved to the greater Boston, Massachusetts, region to serve as a psychopharmacologist at the EFACHAM Haitian Clinic, a private practitioner at Southeastern Psychiatric Associates, and an Attending Psychiatrist at Carney Hospital. Returning to San Diego in 1996, Dr. David Brian Wexler, MD spent the next two years holding a variety of positions, including Emergency Psychiatrist at the San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital, Staff Psychiatrist for Psychiatric Centers of San Diego, and Staff Psychiatrist at Telecare Choices Intermediate Care Facility. Since then, Dr. David Brian Wexler has lived and worked in Silicon Valley, where he has held roles as a clinical psychiatrist, director of consultation/liaison services, and adjunct clinical instructor supervising Stanford psychiatric physician residents. Today, Dr. David Brian Wexler operates his private practice in Portola Valley, maintaining a specialty in adult psychiatry and serving patients throughout the region. Commenting on his services, one patient remarked that Dr. David Brian Wexler, MD "is simply the best there is."
